About us

Bath Organic Group was set up in 1986 to promote sustainable, local food production and organic gardening in and around Bath.

We are affiliated to Garden Organic, and keen supporters of Bath Area Growers, Transition Bath, Dry Arch CSA and a number of other local community groups.

Don't think that because we call ourselves 'organic' you have to be some kind of weirdo throw-back to the 1970s. We are a very mixed bunch from many different walks of life and all ages, linked by one firm principle — the importance of growing food without man-made chemicals. And enjoying doing it.

We have a stall at the Bath farmers' market in Green Park Station on the first Saturday of each month from April to November with the final one just before Christmas. We sell plants and our surplus produce from the allotment and from members' own gardens/plots. We sell the best apple juice you have ever tasted, made from our own organic fruit.

Occasionally we host courses, arrange talks and organise outings.

Our big public event each year is our Growing Green day which is held in May.

We are happy to arrange schools visits.

BOG also helps run a trading hut with Bath Allotments Association selling seeds, compost, fertiliser and garden sundries at very reasonable rates.
